Hunter S. Thompson is a Colorado hero. When I was in college the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas came out and I was also imitating Ralph Steadman's art at the same time. I painted this portrait while he was still alive but soon after he ended his life. I was able to meet Ralph Steadman at a California book signing but I never got the chance to meet Thompson despite living in Colorado soon after college.
